Nature is beautiful
Nature is fun
Nature is alive

It is a home.
Feed and shelter us,
We can't live without it.

I know the flowers and fruits,
are amazing.

Nature is beautiful
What is so alive?

with leaves

All this experiment may help me in my final clip. As I am going to write a poem and the visual will be about the nature tree that is decay.

research on artists

Dieter Roth
(April 21, 1930 - June 5, 1998), for his sculptures and pictures made with rotting food stuffs. Roth would take a blue panel, cover it in foodstuffs arranged as islands on the background, cover the surface in yoghurt, then cover that in a layer of plaster, leaving the piece to undergo a series of transformations; mouldy stages, bacterial decay, insect attack, and then stability as only non-degradable elements were left.

Leah Oates
Her photographs of trash capture the over abundance of mass-produced objects and reveal a global culture of disposable matter in urban settings. Oates’s work highlights the abject beauty of such discarded items. The work she created first originates as a response to sites and objects that are ignored such as piles of trash, alleyways, overpasses or abandoned structures. In most instances the locations that she has shot in are not desirable travel destinations, are generally working class and are in industrial areas. She has a strong emotional connection, knowledge and familiarity with this kind of locality and want to document it in all of its poignant beauty.

ideas

After doing some brain storm of the word "decay", I come out the idea of exploring with the decay in nature. Mostly on the tree and maybe on fruit.
- show the beauty of the pattern on the different leaves
- experiment with the leaves
- write a poem on the beauty of nature
- the leave house for the insect

What shld I do for my clip?

I would like either do like
to put in random stuff
- animals
-insect
-non-living things
-dead/ rotten stuff ??? for the experimental film clip

or

Do like the Block B, only using one full view but lots of things will be happening.

I might also think of doing theatre performance of using things that we graphics designer will use like my reference of using only paper.

Not going to do on photography as I found out that I could not seems to be able to portray what I want to show actually.

Look different & Think different

What caught your eyes? Can you see a hidden picture inside?

Reference part 2

Experimental performance
This is more on how they use the screen to create the environment that it is not just the screen with the people but like it is really alive.

main image

I also would like to take reference with the substation that i saw which is very interesting and different that caught me to concentrate to the clip is the BLOCK B by Chris Chong. It’s entertaining trying to match up the dialogue with the characters residing in the maze of living spaces. BLOCK B will be playing in a 20-minute loop.

Why is it interesting?
The small detail and want to find who is talking in the clip what is happening at which level of the building. Only one still camera view of the overall building still able to catch the actors walking and doing.

Experimental

Experimental can separate into 3 different category .
Film, Digital and Theatre performance.

Experimental Film is often characterized by the absence of linear narrative, the use of various abstracting techniques (out of focus, painting or scratching on film, rapid editing), the use of asynchronous sound or even the absence of any sound track. It has been argued that much experimental film is no longer in fact "experimental," but has in fact become a film genre and that many of its more typical features - such as a non-narrative, impressionistic or poetic approaches to the film's construction - define what is generally understood to be "experimental".

Theatre performance is qualifies as dramatic by creating a representational illusion. It will gives a feel on how to use the spacious and interact with the multi-media and to the audience.

It is like the cinematic which is define an artwork of it necessarily invokes pre-existing notions ad expectation about cinema, which are likely to be history as well as culturally specific. It seems to hold an appeal for some practitioners because it may offer models pr prototypes for collectivity.
The 'actual space' (whether in the form of gallery, museum or "alternative space") into a perceptual field that often took the form of 'a hybrid of white cube and black box'. This notion of a hybrid is intriguing, pointing towards a possible connection because the practices of the later 1960s and early 1970s and the more recent explorations of the "cine material". It would be mostly in-between the city and nature, in-between this place of meetings, signs, and corporations, which is the city, and nature.

The meaning of in-between over here is : It is neither a consistency nor continuity of its own. It does not lead from one to the other: it constitutes no connective tissue, no cement, no bridge. Perhaps it is not even fair to speak of a "connection" to its subject: it is neither connected nor unconnected: it falls short in both.

How I can play?
I can play with the optical illusion. An optical illusion (also called a visual illusion) is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. I also can play with the looking in a different perspective of looking the surrounding.

Reference and Style

Concept

My concept is to portray a different view of perspective in life. To help the audience to see things in other ways, opening up their curiosity to everything. In a mood piece and abstract way.

In another view, we will able to see the amazing image that we might find out.

Folded page one

“Folded Page One” is the first chapter of a complex artistic research which aims to investigate the interaction of various live media and the integration of different artistic languages: audio visual, graphics, sculpture, fashion, physical performance and theatrical process.

The performance is exploring the physical and metaphysical properties and potentials of paper.

Paper is the starting point for all of the artists. The costume is made out of paper, all of the visuals are filmed events or animations derived from paper and Alessandro's music is composed using sounds of paper.

The performer, Nina Fog, plays a creature born from paper who constantly transforms herself, reinventing her corporeality.

“With Folded I am exploring the sensations of being written upon (by sound, image, costume, space); being invented and - at the same time - being erased. The constant cycle of living and dying makes me only a momentary creature in a fragment of time - I aim to be in the pure of state of existing from moment to moment”. Nina Fog

a little more knowing about our brain

Watch this short drama series about detective and how our brain works.
The show is call Mr Brain, it is one of the best show for me.

The Parahippocampal gyrus is a grey matter cortical region of the brain that surrounds the hippocampus. This region plays an important role in memory encoding and retrieval. Is it interesting to know about it . =)

Concept idea

After all these researching, make me want to do the idea of curiosity.
Getting to know what is the meaning to this phrase "If once, we human being has discover everything about the being in this universe it is actually the end of human". I understand that actually is on how different perspectives we look at that set our curiosity to take place.
I want to do about setting people to see things different and question themselves if what they see is what it is.

Curiosity

“I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity.”

- Eleanor Roosevelt

I totally agree with Eleanor's quote. Without curiosity, we wont do anything it is the same as death. No worries, we all have curiosity in us only some time we won't know even it comes to set us thinking. =)

To toggle my curiosity and open my mind to anything right now is IMAGES, as it can be visually see so I look into photography. I came across this combine photos of windows which is interesting to look at and set my mind too wanting to know what the photographer wants to portray.

Title: An open and shut case?

Ed Buziak (the photographer)
short info of him:
a self-taught photographer and monochrome printer who, in 1974 at the ag
e of 30, took a leap of faith into the tough professional world of photography. Even before that, on his graduation day in 1967 at The Regional College of Art,
Manchester, he realised, rather late in his studies, that he wanted to be a photographer, not the interior designer he had trained to be.

He explained:
Just as the window or aperture of the camera lens is the selective eye of the photographer, so the windows of homes, offices, cars and aircraft provide selected views of the world. When the two are combined - to make images of windows - very different viewpoints and views can be created.

Windows can be looked at, looked through and, depending on how high above the ground, looked into. But most of all, because that is their main visual function, they are looked out of. When composing images of windows the results will always be very different from inside than out.
